About KORD
A New Zealand supplier of premium USB and power components — catalogued by code, specified honestly, built to last.
What KORD is
KORD is a New Zealand supplier of premium USB and power components — cables, chargers, hubs, docks, power banks and backup power. We do one thing and try to do it properly: carry the best version of each product we can source, describe it honestly, and stand behind it. No marketing ranges, no seasonal churn, no gap between what a product claims and what it does.
Catalogued by code
Everything we sell has a code, and the whole site is built around it. Know the code and you're seconds from checkout; don't yet, and the catalogue is built to be read and searched. It's a deliberately plain way to shop — the opposite of a store that buries what you want under lifestyle photography. We think people who know what they need shouldn't have to hunt for it.
Specified honestly
The numbers on our products mean what they say. A "100W" cable is genuinely rated and tested to carry 100W; a power bank's capacity is quoted in honest watt-hours rather than an inflated headline figure. We'd rather under-promise and have the product over-deliver than win a spec-sheet argument on paper. Where a product has a limitation, we say so — because the point is that you buy the right thing.
Built and chosen to last
Each product earns its place by being the best version of that thing we could find, tested against its own claims before it gets a code. Cables have proper conductors and reinforced strain relief where they normally fail; chargers run cool and honest. And everything carries a 5-year replacement warranty, because gear this good should last, and we should stand behind it when it doesn't.
Straightforward to deal with
We're a small team, close to the product. The person who answers your email is usually the person who can fix your problem — no call-centre script, no runaround. Delivery is a flat $15 anywhere in New Zealand, dispatched the same day when you order before 2pm. Prices are in New Zealand dollars, GST included, with nothing added at the end.
The catalogue grows; the standard doesn't move
We add products over time, but the bar for getting into the catalogue stays exactly where it is. If it isn't the best version we can source, and it can't back up its numbers, it doesn't get a code. That's the whole idea.

- Our storyKORD started with a drawer full of cables that didn't do what they promised. Here's how that turned into a store.
- How we choose productsThe bar a product has to clear to earn a code. Fewer products, none we'd hesitate to recommend.
- Testing and standardsWhy our numbers mean what they say. How we check that a product lives up to its own spec before it earns a code.
