Sustainability

Gear that lasts is the most sustainable gear there is. How longevity, honesty and a 5-year warranty reduce waste.

The most sustainable product is the one you don't replace

E-waste is one of the fastest-growing waste streams in the world, and cheap electronics accessories are a big part of it — cables that fray in months, chargers that die, gear bought twice because the first one didn't last. KORD's approach to sustainability starts there: the single most effective thing we can do is sell products good enough that you don't have to buy them again. Longevity isn't just quality; it's the environmental point.

Built to last, not to be replaced

Our whole selection is geared toward durability — proper conductors and reinforced strain relief in cables, cooler-running components in chargers, gear chosen because it's the best version we could find rather than the cheapest. A cable that lasts years instead of months is, in the plainest terms, a fraction of the waste. That's why our 5-year replacement warranty matters environmentally as well as commercially: it's a commitment to products that go the distance.

Honest specs reduce waste too

A surprising amount of e-waste comes from buying the wrong thing. A charger that's underpowered, a cable that secretly can't carry the data — bought, found wanting, and replaced. By specifying our products honestly and helping you choose the right one, we cut down on the replacements that come from mismatches. Getting it right the first time is quietly one of the greenest things a store can do.

Repair and replace, not landfill

When something does fail within warranty, our first response is a replacement of the faulty item rather than treating the whole thing as disposable. We'd always rather put a genuine fault right than have you bin working gear and start again. If you're ever unsure whether something can be sorted rather than replaced, ask us.

Sensible packaging

We aim to keep packaging to what protects the product and no more. Over-packaging is waste by another name, and it's not something we want to send you. It's a small thing, but small things add up across a lot of orders.

Honest about where we are

We're a small operation, and we're not going to pretend we've solved everything or drape ourselves in green claims we can't stand behind — that would sit badly with a store built on honest specs. What we can say plainly is that selling durable, correctly matched gear, backed for five years, is a genuine reduction in waste compared to the throwaway alternative. We'll keep looking for ways to do better.
