Accessibility statement
We want kord.nz to work for everyone. What we aim for, and how to tell us if something doesn't work for you.
Our commitment
We want KORD to be usable by everyone, including people who use assistive technology or who browse in ways that suit them. Accessibility isn't a box we tick and forget — it's part of building a site that works well, and it fits naturally with our plain, uncluttered approach. This statement sets out what we aim for and, importantly, how to reach us if something gets in your way.
What we aim for
We aim to build kord.nz so that it's straightforward to read, navigate and use with a range of tools and preferences. In practice that means things like:
- Clear structure and readable text, so the site makes sense with a screen reader and is easy to follow.
- Keyboard access, so you can navigate and use key features — including search and checkout — without a mouse, with a visible indication of where you are on the page.
- Sensible contrast and type, so content is legible, and a design that doesn't rely on colour alone to convey meaning.
- Respecting your preferences, such as reduced-motion settings, so the site behaves the way your device is set up to expect.
Our deliberately plain design helps here: a clean catalogue with clear text and simple navigation is easier to use with assistive technology than a cluttered, animation-heavy store.
Where we know we can improve
Accessibility is ongoing, and no site is ever perfect. We keep working at it, and we'd genuinely rather know about a problem than not. If part of the site is hard to use with your assistive technology or in your preferred way of browsing, that's useful for us to hear and to fix.
Tell us
If you encounter a barrier on kord.nz — something that's hard to read, navigate or use with your tools — please email hello@kord.nz and tell us what happened, what you were trying to do, and the technology you were using if you're comfortable sharing it. We'll do our best to help you directly in the meantime, and to fix the underlying issue.
Getting help with an order
If any part of the site is a barrier to placing an order, we don't want that to stop you buying what you need. Email hello@kord.nz and a real person will help you complete your order and answer any questions — we're a small team and we're glad to help.
Keeping this current
We'll update this statement as we make improvements. Your feedback is a big part of how we know what to work on.
