Warranty: 5-year replacement

Every KORD product is backed by a 5-year replacement warranty. Here's what it covers and how to make a claim.

Five years, because good gear should last

Every product KORD sells is covered by a 5-year replacement warranty against faults in materials and workmanship. We build and choose our gear to last, and the warranty is how we stand behind that. If something we sold you fails through a fault within five years, we replace it — simply and without argument.

What the warranty covers

The warranty covers genuine faults: a cable that fails internally through normal use, a charger that stops working, a hub that develops a fault, and similar defects in the product itself. If a product doesn't perform as it should because of how it was made, that's exactly what this warranty is for. Our first response to a covered fault is to replace the item.

What it doesn't cover

Like any warranty, it covers faults rather than accidents or misuse. It doesn't cover:

  • Physical damage from drops, crushing, liquid, or obvious misuse.
  • Normal cosmetic wear that doesn't affect function.
  • Damage from using a product outside its rated specification (for example, pushing a cable well beyond its rated wattage).
  • Loss or theft.

If you're not sure whether an issue is a fault, get in touch — we'd rather look at it than have you assume it isn't covered.

How to make a claim

Making a claim is straightforward:

  1. Email hello@kord.nz with your order details and a description of the fault. A photo or short video helps us understand the problem quickly.
  2. We'll confirm the claim and, for a covered fault, arrange a replacement.
  3. We cover the cost of putting a genuine fault right — you won't be charged to replace a faulty product.

We aim to sort claims quickly, because being without gear you rely on is the frustrating part.

Proof of purchase

Please keep your order confirmation — it's the simplest proof of purchase and the date, which we use to confirm you're within the five years. If you've lost it, email us and we'll do our best to find your order on our side.

Beyond the warranty

Your rights under New Zealand consumer law sit alongside this warranty and aren't limited by it. If a product isn't of acceptable quality, you may have remedies under the law regardless of the warranty period. Our 5-year cover is designed to be generous on top of those rights.

Questions about whether something's covered? hello@kord.nz — just ask.
