What information KORD collects, how we use it, and your choices. We keep this short and honest.
Our approach to your privacy
We collect only the information we need to run the store and fulfil your orders, we use it only for that, and we don't sell it. This policy explains, in plain terms, what we collect and why. It applies to kord.nz and is provided by KORD Ltd, New Zealand, in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act.
This is a plain-language starting point and should be reviewed by a legal professional before you rely on it as your final published policy.
What we collect
- Order and account details — your name, email address, delivery address and order history, which we hold so we can process orders, deliver them, and provide support. Your customer code is linked to these details so checkout can pre-fill them.
- Payment information — handled by our payment provider, not by us. We don't see or store your card number; we receive only confirmation that a payment succeeded and a reference for the transaction.
- Basic website information — standard technical data your browser sends, and information needed to keep the site secure and working, such as limited records used to prevent misuse of the code system.
How we use it
We use your information to accept and fulfil your orders, arrange delivery, provide support and honour warranties, keep the site secure, and comply with our legal obligations. If you contact us, we use your details to respond. We don't use your information for purposes unrelated to running the store.
Sharing
We share information only where necessary to provide the service: with our courier to deliver your order, and with our payment provider to process payment. We don't sell your personal information or share it for others' marketing. We may disclose information where the law requires it.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, and we deliberately avoid holding sensitive payment data ourselves — card details stay with our payment provider, whose job is handling them to industry security standards. Your connection to the site is encrypted.
Keeping and deleting information
We keep your information for as long as needed to provide the service, meet warranty obligations, and comply with the law, then no longer than necessary. You can ask us to update or delete your details, subject to any records we're legally required to keep.
Your choices and rights
Under New Zealand privacy law you can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it where appropriate. To make any of these requests, email hello@kord.nz and we'll help.
